The Cosmopolitan cocktail from "Sex and the City" - now alcohol-free

The US cult series 'Sex and the City' is being continued. From 1998 to 2004 we followed the lives of the four New York friends. We saw them laugh, flirt, and cry - and most of all, we saw them drink Cosmopolitan. The pink drink in the Martini glass achieved cult status thanks to 'Sex and the City'. The slightly sweet cocktail has become THE New York drink par excellence throughout the series and runs like a common thread through all seasons. Even if Samantha won't be there this time, we can rely on Cosmopolitan's appearance.

The Cosmopolitan is a drink that goes perfectly with friends' chats. He has perfect taste, loosens the tongue and lifts the mood: Who are you dating right now? What is the hottest restaurant in town? These are all questions that are more fun to chat about with a Cosmopolitan in your hand.

What does a non-alcoholic Cosmopolitan taste like

Do you want to sip delicious Cosmopolitans at the start of the new 'Sex and the City' season, but don't want to resort to alcohol? With Laori Juniper No 1 you can easily enjoy the Cosmopolitan without alcohol - and wake up the next morning without a hangover. The tart sweetness of the cranberry juice and the spice of the juniper  complement each other perfectly in this drink. The orange liqueur is replaced with orange blossom water and the citrusy flavors of the lime juice harmonize perfectly with the bergamot flavors of the Laori No 1. This creates a taste experience that even Carrie Bradshaw couldn't resist!

How did the Cosmopolitan come about?

The Cosmopolitan is undeniably the most famous vodka cocktail - even though the original recipe was mixed with gin. The first recorded mention of Cosmopolitan dates back to 1934 in the book Traveling Mixologists. The original recipe included: gin, orange liqueur, lime and raspberry syrup. However, this recipe was never really successful. That changed in the 1980s: the second life of the cocktail. The Cosmopolitan as we know it today is said to have been created by New York bartender Toby Cecchini in 1987. In his recipe, gin was swapped for vodka and raspberry syrup for cranberry juice and voilà: the classic drink was ready.
