What is a Negroni?
Entire books could be written about the Negroni cocktail. No wonder, since the drink boasts a history spanning over 100 years. This makes it the great-grandfather of the Italian aperitivo family. According to legend, an Italian count returned from his adventures in America in 1919. At a bar in Florence, he ordered a stronger "Americano," made with Campari, vermouth, and a splash of soda water. The bartender serving him, Fosco Bruno Sabatino Scarselli, reached for a bottle of gin instead of water, and voilà: the Negroni was born!

What does a non-alcoholic Negroni taste like?
A Negroni is a bittersweet temptation! It's characterized by an intense, citrusy flavor, accompanied by a harmonious blend of sweet and bitter notes. The whole experience is rounded off with the fresh herbal kick of the gin.

When do you drink a Negroni?
The Negroni is an aperitif or pre-dinner drink. The idea behind it is to drink something strong before a meal to stimulate the appetite. This concept of a pre-dinner drink originated in America. However, the Negroni itself comes from Italy and is therefore defined by its bitter notes. These not only harmonize perfectly with savory appetizers but are also intended to stimulate the appetite. Your Negroni tastes just as good at a bar at night as it does as an aperitif!
What is a "Finger Stirred Negroni"?
Bartenders are often asked whether you stir a Negroni with your finger.Although it might sound unappetizing, there's a good reason for it: bartending legend Garry "Gaz" Regan! He once had to mix 20 Negronis in just a few minutes and, in the rush, simply used his finger to stir them. Since then, this has been his signature move! If you'd like to feel like the bartending legend himself, we recommend giving it a try – just maybe not when you're making drinks for your friends.
