2. Alcohol-free alternative to mulled gin
Besides classic mulled wine, more and more alcoholic mulled drinks have become popular at Christmas markets in recent years. Leading the pack: mulled gin! We'll show you how to make it with our Laori Juniper No. 1 You can conjure up a delicious non-alcoholic alternative! Fruity, spicy, refreshing – and you don't have to worry about a hangover!
Ingredients
- 100 ml Laori Juniper No. 1
- 500 ml naturally cloudy apple juice
- 200 ml blackcurrant juice
- 3 oranges
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 5 cloves
- 2 tbsp honey/agave syrup
Glass & decoration
- Cup or mug and fresh orange zest for decoration
preparation
- Halve 2 oranges and squeeze out the juice, slice the remaining orange.
- Bring orange juice, apple juice and currant juice to a boil together with the spices, then reduce to low heat.
- orange slices and Laori Juniper No. 1 add and let it steep for 15 minutes.
- Strain through a sieve and sweeten to taste with honey or agave syrup.
- Divide among cups and garnish with fresh orange zest. Enjoy!
3. Non-Alcoholic Moscow Mule – Laori Mule
The Moscow Mule is a perfect winter drink. The warming sensation of ginger in the throat, the aroma of mint, and a light acidity: all of this describes the alcohol-free Moscow MuleWe'll conjure up something magical for you with Laori Juniper No. 1 Alcohol-free, liquid winter in your glass!
Ingredients
- 4 cl Laori Juniper No. 1
- 1 cl lime juice
- 15 cl Ginger Beer, z.BSpicy Ginger by Thomas Henry
- ice cubes
Glass & decoration
- Highball or classic copper mug
- mint & fresh lime for garnish
preparation
- Add ice cubes to the highball glass or copper mug.
- Laori Juniper No. 1 and add the lime juice
- Pour in ginger beer and stir once.
- Garnish with half a lime slice and mint leaves.Enjoy!
4. Vegan vanilla crescent cookies
Christmas time is cookie time! We're especially taken with this vegan vanilla crescent cookie recipe. It's quick and easy and will give you magical cookies!
Ingredients
- 150 g spelt flour
- 50 g icing sugar
- 50 g ground almonds
- 1 tsp ground vanilla
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 90 g margarine
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
For pollination:
- 35 g icing sugar
- 1 tsp ground vanilla
preparation
- Preheat the oven to 165 degrees Celsius (325 degrees Fahrenheit) using the convection setting and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Sift spelt flour and powdered sugar into a bowl, then mix in the ground almonds, ground vanilla and vanilla sugar.
- Add the margarine, cut into small pieces, and add the lemon juice.
- Knead the ingredients with both hands until the dough can be formed into a ball.
- Divide the dough into 5-6 portions, knead each portion into a ball and roll it out lengthwise on a work surface.
- Pinch off small pieces of dough the size of gnocchi, roll them between your palms into sausage shapes, and place them slightly curved onto the baking sheet.
- Bake the vanilla crescent cookies for 12 minutes; they should not become dark, but only lightly brown at the ends.
- Mix the powdered sugar with the ground vanilla and sift over the vanilla crescents. Enjoy!
5. Chocolate-covered fruit
We all know chocolate-covered fruit from Christmas markets and fairs. But you can easily make it yourself at home. You only need a few ingredients, and there are no limits to your creativity.
Ingredients
- Fruit of your choice
- 500 g couverture or chocolate
- wooden skewers
preparation
- Wash the fruit and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Then thread it onto the skewers. Either one type of fruit per skewer or a mix.
- To prepare the water bath, fill a large pot with water and hang a smaller pot inside it.
- Chop the couverture chocolate and place it in the smaller saucepan and let it melt. Stir several times during this process.
- Once the chocolate coating has melted, dip the fruit in it. Place the finished skewers on a baking sheet and let them cool. Enjoy!
6. Roasted nuts
Whether almonds, peanuts or cashews: roasted nuts are the quintessential Christmas market classic.Today we'll show you how to easily make your own roasted nuts at home! The best part is that they're not only cheaper than at the Christmas market, but you can also choose whatever flavor you like!
Ingredients
- 250g of nuts of your choice
- 200 g sugar
- 125 ml water
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 pinch of salt
preparation
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a pot, over high heat, mix the sugar together with salt, cinnamon and water, and as soon as the sugar solution starts to boil, add the nuts and stir well.
- Reduce heat to medium and simmer until the water has evaporated and the sugar has recrystallized, stirring occasionally.
- Once the sugar has started to crystallize, you should begin stirring continuously until the nuts begin to shine.
- Remove the nuts from the heat immediately, spread them on a baking sheet, and let them cool. Enjoy!
